Get Your Rain Boot Ready

I have just written to the one who coined
The proverb, “Fortune knocks once in life”.

I didn’t mean him to take offence
So I wrote:
“Sir, with due respect, the Fortune
I know changed from your times.
Nowadays, he appears more often.
He knocks, not once, not twice—
Plus, nowadays there are bells
Surely, a bell’s ring would be heard, right?”

In that letter, I vividly set to illustrate
To him the people who could support my claim.
There’s Johana, the Garbage Collector, who collected diamond
In trash, blew it, then went back to trash and now has a truck
There’s Abdi, the confused bloke who ran from school
Now he is a butterfly farmer
And there’s Samora and Lewis and Binti Hemedi
“You got it all wrong, Sir,” I told him
“The story of success is complex”.
“As long as humans live, and hope,
There will always be chances to improve their welfare”

If the head of success escapes, grab the tail,
Pull it towards you, Pilgrim,
Never waste time watching barren clouds of yesterday
Watch out for the gathering clouds of tomorrow
Get your rain boot ready, when it pours
The dust of little worries will be mud
On your rain boot

Looks like it might rain tomorrow
Get your rain boot ready, Pilgrim.

Oh I love this so much. Get your rain boot ready, Pilgrim. You are so optimistic. I love that about you!

Optimism is my middle name, Koko. And hope is what we live by, right? No coincidence that it is a quote you have lived by for decades!

It's always slippery when wet, so pay attention to their soles and make sure that they are not flat.

I will always pay heed. Thanks for making a pilgrimage to the hills @ricosta shoes
